In Remembrance These are the boundery (sic) lines of a beautiful life just ended. Again has God in his infinite power and wisdom seen fit to call from our midst another precious flower, Mary Katherine Davis. She is the daughter of Isaac and Cass (Philpot) Davis and died at their home near Wallace Sunday afternoon, July 13, after an illness of 5 weeks of typhoid fever. True she was a flower with all its perfume of sweetness and purity. She united with Freedom Church last winter and was baptized by Rev JT Phillips and has since lived a consistent Christian life. The purity of her character and her honesty of purpose were traits worthy of imitation by all. Everything that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. It seems strange that such a beautiful young life should be cut down so soon, but the giver of all good doeth all things well. She leaves a father, mother, four sisters, four brothers, an aged grandmother and a loved one to sadly mourn her death. The family has the sympathy of a a large circle of friends in this sad hour of affliction and we can only comfort them by saying, "Lean on Him who gave you this lovely child." The funeral was held Tuesday 11 o'clock at the home. The Freedom choir sang, "Do not pass me by dear Savior," a favorite of the deceased. The large concourse of friends and the many floral offerings testified the love and esteem in which she was held. The pallbearers, six of her young lady assoc. dressed in white, placed the snow white casket containing the remains in the funeral car and was taken to the Zackmire Cemetery where all that was mortal of Mary was laid to rest. There is a vacant place in the home, in the Church, in the affections of the people, and we know Mary will not come again, but we can so live that there will be a grand reunion beyond the grave.
